Pro:

Excellent contrast and colors
Sharp as a tack
You won't see it focusing, it's as fast as my 17-40
Yep, it's wide alright

Con:

Tiny bit soft at 10/3.5 towards the borders
Some vignetting at 10/3.5
Build quality could be better, but it's alright.

Review:

Well, after long doubt if I would take the jump to full frame I realized my customers have never asked me for bigger files. I just couldn't justify the 4,5K euro I needed to buy a 5D + 24-70. Having my 17-40 as a walkaround on my 30D I just missed something really wide.

Well, this is it, and what a lens this. Colors are just mad (look at the _unedited_ samples), contrast is superb and the auto focus is just stunningly fast (again). It's just a bit soft at the borders at 10/3.5 and it vignettes, but stop it down just 2/3rds and the "problems" are gone. For it's price, quite high, I would liked the L-build from my 17-40 (same price...). That explains the two grades below 10. Otherwise it would have been 10/10 all the way.

I have included some 10/3.5 to illustrate it, terrible isn't it? ;)

Pro:

It is very very wide :)
Fast focus, although it tends to hunt slightly sometimes.
The weight, it is very light.
No hotspots in infrared shots (see example).

Con:

Sometimes too wide to distort the image, which is nothing against the lens but againt the photographer.

Review:

This lens is an awesome catch. I sold my Tokina 12-24 and bought this one together with my 20D. The Tokina is built like a tank, but this one feels as strong although it is very light.

This lens is sharp. Wide open.
Colours and contrast are simply stunning.

Con:

Price.

Review:

My favourite lens with a distance (and I do own a nice white Tele)

Bought mine with cashback which made the price difference with the (lightentrywise) slower Sigma 10-20 a no brainer. Since there is no substitude for wide, and 12mm lens was and is no option. Pictures from this lens always bring a smile to my face, a joy to use.
