Reviews for the Canon EF-S 60 F/2.8 Macro USM
Register here to add your own review| Pro: | Cheap, F/2.8, feels metally ( no cheap plastics ) metal EF mount, non moving AF ring. |
| Con: | EF-S, no IS ( makes is also more expensive, but not that much ) small filter size, with bigger front element size probably higher F rate up to F 1.8 or more, but also .... more expensive |
| Review: | Can be very sharp, but with moving object (wind outside) it's not easy to keep it sharp. AF picking point by canon 400d will sometimes be off sharpness, and helping it in one shot mode with the AF ring will make it sharper.

| Pro: | * Great image quality
|
| Con: | * It's EF-S so it'll only work on APS-C camera's. |
| Review: | This is a great little performer suitable for many tasks. On APS it makes a short compact telelens with can even be used for portraits, but the real use of this lens is obviously it's 1:1 macro. The only drawbacks are physics. At maximum magnification the depth-of-field is 9,8mm at f/32 which is nothing. Also, due to diffraction such small apertures should be avoided, but they aren't too bad.

| Pro: | Very recommended: sharp as hell, very usefull for portraits, fast autofocus and not expensive |
| Con: | A _little_ movement in the focusring |
| Review: | I bought this lens to shoot 1:1 macro's, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money at it. This was the only option for me because of it's price, the innerfocus-design and the USM. A great plus of this lens is the USM motor, that gives it an edge above all the Sigma-lenses in this pricecategory.
